Today I’d like to share some blog posts from some amazing bloggers, people who have inspired me to start my own page and helped me to believe that it’s possible to do this. Thanks to these guys for sharing their passion and inspiring others to live a healthier lifestyle!
My New Roots
I’m sure you’ve all heard of My New Roots; if you haven’t go check out Sarah Britton’s site – she’s swell! I’m not a big bread eater. If I do eat bread, it’s gluten free. However, gluten-free breads sometimes don’t taste that good and can be full of nasties like soy, and emulsifiers that we don’t need! This life-changing loaf of bread is sure to hit the spot and fill you up! Full of nuts and seeds, its nutrient dense and tastes great! Give it a try!

Milking Almonds
I stumbled across this blog recently and loved the simple photos that let the food speak for itself. This mint chocolate chip shake is super yummy. No refined sugar and no dairy. A much healthier version of a “milk” shake I think. I used fresh mint instead of peppermint oil and it worked a treat. I also added some cacao nibs to mine instead of chocolate, yum!

Gemma Lush from Lush Loves
Gemma Lush is a photographer and food lover. Her site is great! Great photos and yummy, health conscious food to go with it! My favorite Japanese dish is miso eggplant or “dengaku”, so I was excited to see this baked miso eggplant recipe on her site.
The additive of black rice as a side dish is super healthy as opposed to white/brown rice. Black versions of food are really healthy for you as they contain anthocyanin antioxidant to help prevent cancer and heart disease. They also contain vitamins B, E, potassium and iron. You should also try black quinoa, black beans and black sesame seeds.

I Quit Sugar: Sarah Wilson
Sarah Wilson is a familiar face to most Australians. You may have seen her on TV. Sarah’s website I Quit Sugar has great information, books, recipes and lifestyle. I especially liked this post on chicken soup. Sarah says this soup is her anti-anxiety chicken soup for the soul and she backs up her soup with some scientific evidence to show how it really can calm your nervous system and your gut, calling it “the second brain”. It’s true! Being a bit of an “anxo” myself, I’ll definitely be giving this soup a try. My stomach is the first thing to tense up when I’m feeling a little anxious or nervous and it can be a frustrating feeling not being able to relax!
Also try chamomile to ease a tense stomach that is caused by anxiety. See my post here on staying calm with chamomile.
