Coffee is one of my favourite flavours. The smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning is comforting to the soul, i guess that’s why so many people love their coffee hit every day! Speaking of morning obsessions, smoothies are one of mine, so it’s no surprise that i’ve teamed up coffee and one of the old classics, “the banana smoothie” to create one super delicious morning treat! This “Banoffee” smoothie has got that bitterness from the coffee and that creamy sweetness from the banana that balances so well. So when i was asked to create a recipe using Jax Coco’s Banana flavoured coconut water, this banana smoothie with a shot of coffee was the perfect fit.
There are so many coconut water brands out there at the moment, with so many different variations to choose from, some are raw, organic, flavoured or with no added sugar. I’m not really one for flavoured coconut water but with Jax Coco’s flavoured coconut waters i can definitely make an exception. There are no nasties in there, so the banana flavoured one of banana, coconut water and they use one of my favourite sweeteners, coconut sugar. They are perfect for on the go smoothies just like this one.

What you need:
1/2 a large banana or 1 small
3/4 cup Jax Coco banana coconut Water
1/3 cup coconut milk
1 espresso shot
1 tsp maca powder
What to do:
Blend all ingredients until smooth
Serve on ice
