Fig & Maca Valentine’s Day Smoothie

nourishinspiremeFebruary 5, 2014October 27, 2022

Since it’s almost Valentine’s Day I thought I better pick a recipe for you that you can share with your partner. This Fig & Maca Valentine’s Day Smoothie is a little bit naughty really… It’s packed with nutrients to help boost your libido! Oh baby!

Every couple loves to spend quality time together and more often then not that time is spent over a nice meal. Food  brings us together. We use food to celebrate all occasions, why not use Valentine’s Day as another way to enjoy food that tastes delicious but also helps you connect intimately with your lover! This smoothie should do the trick!

What is it about this smoothie that will boost your libido?

Figs are known to be an aphrodisiac and beneficial for the reproductive organs, as their appearance would suggest through the doctrine of signatures. They actually hang in two’s when they grow – remind you of anything? Figs improve sperm count and sperm motility. All this is beneficial for fertility. Figs also have powerful antioxidants such as anthocyanin and flavanoids – the darker varieties have a higher content of these healthy plant chemicals.

Maca is also known for its libido increasing potential… and just quietly it works! It increases testosterone in men and will therefore improve a man’s performance in the bedroom 😉 It balances hormones and will increase your energy too, a great superfood to add to your smoothies.

Pumpkin Seeds are a great source of zinc which is important for testosterone production in men and also sex drive in women.

Cacao is well known for it’s aphrodisiac actions – it actually helps to release dopamine in the brain and increases blood flow. Plus there’s the undeniable pleasure that comes from eating chocolate, who doesn’t love a bit of raw dark chocolate goodness?

So on Valentine’s Day why don’t you whip this smoothie for your partner and share in the sensualness! Connecting with your partner on an intimate level is such an important part of your relationship. Being able to express yourself freely with someone who doesn’t judge you, but accepts you just as you are is a beautiful thing.

So pop on some music, i suggest “Pony” by Genuwine and enjoy that benefits of nature’s viagra!
